Done

Emily went to National History Day on Friday. She didn't win first or second or third or anything and nobody even cares. This project takes so long that your reward is mere survival. I am all for preparing school students for college but I whine when the 13 year old's homework requires more hours then there are in a day.

Second Place

dancing girls.
Emily's dance company competed at Talent on Parade yesterday. They received 2nd place in their division. They were really awesome for being snowed in the last two weeks with minimal practices. I love Sarah's exceptional smile (bottom right).

I really love their dance, especially the last half where Emily dances front and center. I wish I had a video but it wasn't allowed.

Family ties

I met a girl about a month ago. She moved into our ward with her family. We sat together and talked. She told me where she was from and some things about growing up. I found out Saturday who her dad is. If you go to my church you would know of him. I told her last Sunday I have already forgiven her for leaving out that little detail. Whew, she must have been so relieved! I can understand wanting to be accepted for who you are and remaining private about all your little details.

I feel kind of guilty though. I didn't disclose my own dad's identity either.

William Turner. That's his name.

Groundhog Day

We still had the same snow on Wednesday that we had on Tuesday.

And no school again because we are snowed in still. This town only has a couple of snowplows.

What should we do tomorrow?

Snow Day

It seems like just yesterday (because it was) that I was in sunny Las Vegas with this cute little girl

and this puzzle crazed boy

who also loves a good slide.

I had no particular reason to fly home yesterday except to avoid this blizzard of the century.

When we decide to sell I think we should list the backyard snow hill and throw in the house as an extra.
