Disney Cruise to Alaska

So yeah, this happened last summer.  We had a house full of people 10 minutes after we arrived at the house upon our return and then we moved south of the border and then we broke the computer and just this very moment have run out of excuses.  So here you go, 7 days of more Disney fun than living next door to Walt.

Bryce was very excited about his first Disney Cruise and was so anxious to get the party started.  He had flown with Grandpa to Seattle on Saturday but had to wait until Monday morning to get on the ship.  This was our third Disney Cruise but the first two involved flying to Florida.  Driving to Seattle was a lot less complicated.

There was still some waiting around but an appearance by Mickey helped.

This was just the beginning of getting his picture taken.  (understatement of the year)

 The anticipation

and then finally in to the pool.

First thing Bryce wanted to do was swim.  That is not what we were expecting.  His parents were so frustrated with him because he wouldn't swim.  And this was June in Seattle, it was not really let's put on our swimsuit weather.

He forgot he didn't swim
until he turned into a prune.

He might have stayed forever

if he had not decided there might be something else going on besides taking a warm bath.

The slide was calling his name but he insisted he would not be sliding.

This is the adult pool at the same time with no swimmers.  Apparently swimming in the cold Seattle summer is not that enticing.  We are going to Alaska people, it doesn't get any better than this.

A few brave swimmers in the family pool.  All the little fish were in the Mickey pool.

Bryce dried off in the room

just in time to get some instruction from Goofy

on giving the thumbs up sign.

We explored the ship and found the Route 66 hallway and our own scenic Oklahoma sign.

The portholes are perfect for little boys to sit and think.

And finally the Bon Voyage Party.  All of the passengers had boarded, it takes all afternoon.  The safety courses were completed so at last the ship was sailing.

Bryce had an impressive view of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Chip and Dale dancing like there was no tomorrow.  Good thing he got out of the pool.

And every night the towels are folded into animals.  So if you are looking into a cruise housekeeping career take some advanced towel folding classes.
